After months of disappointing losses in ECS, Eleague Season 1, and SL i-League Starseries Season 2 Finals, the Astralis Counter-Strike team has decided to bench in-game leader Finn “Karrigan” Andersen.  Karrigan has been a founding member of Astralis, and has been a fundamental component to the team. Having played with the team for over three years, Karrigan’s in-game leadership was a determining factor in the Danish Squad’s success, and shaping Astralis to be a top team in the world.

The Astralis roster failed to make it past the group stage at ESL One New York, as they only won one match out of four, and had difficulty against GODSENT with a narrow loss in the relegation matches.

During the entire year, Astralis has failed to claim a trophy.  Although there’s no specific announcement stating why Karrigan was benched, the official statement on the Astralis’ website indicates that the decision was made by the Astralis’ coach Danny “Zonic”  Sørensen. This decision

The team will compete with Anton “notaN” Pedersen in the ESL Pro League.
