Virtus.Pro part ways with their DOTA roster
After a series of unimpressive results, Virtus.Pro has parted ways with its Dota 2 roster. The roster saw changes that impacted the team’s overall performance, most notably being the swap of Ilya “lil” and Alexander “DkPhobos” Kucheria for Maxim “yoky” Kim and Alexander “NoFear” Churochkin. The overall results of the team diminished with the new players added to the team.
Previously considered as a top eight team in the world in DOTA, and placing top six at International 5, the team looked promising. Virtus.Pro was seen beating some of the best DOTA teams in the world, but fell short over a three-month span with the new roster. The issues began with the team constantly swapping positions and role-swapping, which created lack-luster results.
The team competed in the International 6 Qualifiers, and ended up losing in the group stage. This was the last straw for the team, as they proved that their roster had severe issues. When interviewed, a representative from Virtus.Pro stated, ““Despite the fact that the structure is dissolved, it is possible that some of the former players of VP will be in the new roster.”
