Denmark’s most successful football team are branching out into esports titles including FIFA, CS:GO and Dota 2. F.C. Copenhagen are planning to invest millions of Danish krone into professional gamers.

F.C. Copenhagen have signed the former Team Dignitas CS:GO players. Explained here the players left Team Dignitas following a mutual agreement with the organisation. Speculation came instantly after there were reports about F.C. Copenhagen entering the esports and more importantly the CS:GO scene. The Danish club are now the first European football club to invest in a CS:GO team and will be the first to attend a major tournament.
In addition to this the club are reportedly planning to invest ten million kroner, equal to around $1.4 million on an annual basis to field the teams in the three esports titles. F.C. Copenhagen aims to be part of the future of sports with such a large investment. Acquisitions of other professional gamers in FIFA and Dota 2 are yet to be confirmed by the team. However they have entered with good timing and have signed a fantastic team going forward. Ex-Team Dignitas will now feature in F.C. Copenhagen jerseys for the World Esports Games in January as well as the upcoming ELEAGUE Major.
