As of June 30th, SK Gaming will no longer be represented by the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team. According to the SK-Gaming website, the Danish team will look for new opportunities after Jacob “Pimp” Winneche left. The team qualified for ESL Pro League, placed second in CEVO Gifinity Season 9 in London, and had a solid presence at Eleague Season 1.
Sk Gaming’s Managing Director, Alexander T. Müller stated:
“I have rarely seen a team that deals with setbacks as good as this group of players. The mentality they have shown during our time was really outstanding. We worked together for over a year and decided it is best for both parties to try a different approach. I am sure all of the guys have a bright future in Counter-Strike and will find a new home soon.”
There has been rumors of the Luminosity team joining the SK Gaming organization. SK Gaming stated that they will “follow up shortly with further information regarding their CS:GO division.”
