Echo Fox Sign Rush and Fenix

Echo Fox sign Lee “Rush” Yoon-jae and Kim “Fenix” Jae-hun to their roster for the 2019 season.

During MonteCristo’s wedding stream, Fionn and Locodoco hinted at the roster changes. Speculation included Fenix having to swallow his pride and Rush competing with two other junglers for the starting spot.

Origins and Redemption

Fenix’s career started in 2013 as a top laner for Eat Sleep Gaming. After a quiet 2014 on Jin Air and Team Dragon Knights, Fenix moved to NA LCS joining Team Curse (now known as Team Liquid). Through his time on the team, they always managed to fall short of qualifying for Worlds placing 4th in 2015 and 2016.

"What’s really funny is when Echo Fox bought my contract, they said that they’re an organization that exists for the players, unlike other organizations. They told me that they won’t ever meddle with the players, that I shouldn’t worry. After what happened, that’s just hilarious."

After playing for TL academy and GCU, Fenix made his return to the LCS joining Echo Fox in November 2017. However, he was released along with players Altec and Adrian under short notice. Due to his release being close to the roster deadline, he did not play in the 2018 summer split. During his interview with InvenGlobal, he went more in-depth with the situation.

Despite the controversy surrounding the team last split, Fenix decided to resign with them in hopes of a better future.

Former MVP of the 2015 summer split, Rush, started his professional journey in 2014 signing to LMQ (re-branded to Team Impulse). He then joined Cloud 9 in hopes of continuing his strong performance. However, 2016 did not go according to plan as the team failed to make Worlds.

Moving back to Korea, he took a hiatus and trained in hopes of playing for the LCK. Fortunately in December 2017, Rush joined KT Rolster as their sub jungler. KT Rolster went to win the 2018 LCK summer split. However, Rush did not play many games and did not feel satisfied with his position on the roster. Coming to Echo Fox for 2018 will be Rush’s redemption arc.
