ESL will host the ESL One Cologne event featuring the best teams in the world.
Teams from around the world come together to fight for a piece of the $300,000 prize pool. ESL One Cologne 2019 will be the sixth year that ESL has had the event in Cologne, and marks the name “Cathedral of Counter-Strike.”
Cologne has been a key location for ESL One, and has rightfully earned the position as the “Cathedral of Counter-Strike.” Every year during the summer, the streets of Cologne are filled with passionate and enthusiastic fans wearing their favorite team’s jersey and sharing their love for Counter-Strike. The electricity ripples through the stadium at Cologne, as thousands cheer on their favorite players, and teams hoping that they will be crowned the next ESL One Cologne champion.
ESL One Cologne 2019 will feature 16 of the most talented teams from around the world. The event will have four regional qualifier winners, and twelve invited teams. The twelve invited teams have earned their spot based on overall performance, and ratings.
Natus Vincere will seek to win the ESL One Cologne title as the defending champions. Natus Vincere beat BIG in a 3-1 match during the best-of-five grand final. Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev led the team against BIG, and received the MVP with an impressive 1.37 rating during the event. Denis “electronic” Sharipov dominated rounds that help secure the victory for Natus Vincere. Is the team able to perform the same?
