Invictus Gaming dominated Fnatic to win the League of Legends World Championship

Invictus Gaming won the 2018 League of Legends World Championship in an impressive performance against Fnatic, sweeping them 3-0.
Invictus Gaming came into the finals hot after beating heavy favorite KT Rolster out of the LCK in quarter-finals in a close five-game series. One thing that stood out to me when they played KT is iG was able to switch their playstyle and adjust to their opponent. Kt is very good at controlling the pace of games they make you play slow iG being one of the more aggressive teams I questioned if they would be able to adjust to KT. It was an all-around team effort to take down KT and advance.
They then went on to semi-finals to face G2, this is the series where the true iG started to come out the one that finished 29-2 in the LPL this year. TheShy, their top laner, put on an amazing performance vs G2 there was no way to stop him. Rookie their mid laner and JackyeLove their bot laner also performed very well.
This all leads to coming into the finals with momentum and extreme confidence. Even doe Fnatic had beaten iG in the group stage, I don’t believe iG were too worried. JackeyLove didn’t have best showings in those matches and when he’s playing up to his level iG is a different team.
Controlled aggression is the way iG dominated Fnatic throughout the three games they always knew when to punish Fnatic and when to scale it back it allowed the control the pace of the game as well. Their constant pressure flustered Fnatic and lead to crucial mistakes. The rookie got the best of Capps Fnatic mid laner and best player throughout the series. Hee seems to be a class above Capps often forcing Capps into mistakes or in a bad position.
Invictus Gaming was constantly ahead before the 20-minute mark due to Finals MVP iG’s jungler Ning. He had a great performance was always in the right position game two was his best out of the three taking over the game with Gragas. TheShy carried his performance from G2 into this matchup getting the best of Fnatic top laner Bwipo. The bot lane of JackeyLove and Baolan also had an impressive outing against Rekkles and Hylissang.
After coming up short in both LPL spring and summer playoffs Invictus Gaming finally got their moment on the biggest stage. I expect all five players to return and be ready to defend their title next year.
