iBUYPOWER has officially became the partner of the National Association of College Esports (NACE) in a deal that makes them the official PC company of NACE.
NACE has been fundamental in helping colleges plan, implement, and assess expanding their programs into Esports. One of the initiatives is their involvement with the building of Esports arenas, as they have advised colleges in building cost-efficient esports facilities and arenas on campuses around the world.
NACE has also organized competitions in Smite, Paladins, Overwatch, and Hearthstone. Earlier this week, they announced plans for their first Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament. The event is under works, but it projected to launch during the spring.
The sponsorship entails iBUYPOWER facilitating a partnership with numerous universities including the University of California-Irvine, Robert Morris University as Illinois, and Columbia College.
“Our partnership is the next step for us in providing a whole end-to-end ecosystem with trusted partners who our member institutions can rely upon to provide top-notch equipment. Just like traditional athletics, your facility is an important component for recruitment,” Michael Brooks, NACE executive director said in a statement. “More so, as students and administrators on campus continue to push for greater recognition of competitive gaming as a varsity sport, your arena is where your legitimacy begins.”
“Having something that people can see and touch is a great tool when educating those unfamiliar with esports. iBUYPOWER has been a strong proponent of college esports since the very beginning. But until know, while we had the same goals for the space, both NACE and iBUYPOWER were working separately.”The company has not disclosed any financial information relating to the deal. As part o
